Bible Study Helps

King James Bible - 400 Year Anniversary - 1611- 2011

I always enjoy hearing about the King James Bible, and various Bible Study helps.  And, since I'm on a limited budget, it's great when I can find them free (or with just minimal cost).

This page is designed to introduce you to some of my favorite Bible Study helps.

The King James Version of the Bible

My favorite, The Holy Bible, Old and New Testaments in the King James Version, Translated out of the Original Tongues, and with Previous Translations Diligently Compared and Revised, Giant Print References, Concordance, Words of Jesus in Red.

Read it, read it again and again, meditate on it, pray over it, learn how to apply it to your lives, journal about it, write in it, underline the good parts, and God will teach you what he wants you to learn.

eSword - The Sword of the LORD with an electronic edge - by Rick Meyers

eSword is a great program you can download to your computer to help you with your Bible Study and Devotionals.  There are wonderful search engines, concordances, dictionaries, and my favorite the good old fashioned King James Bible!  (Yes, there are other versions too; but I keep to the King James Version).

MySword allows me to read and study the Bible on my cell phone without need for a wi-fi connection or having to use up my limited data package.  It too has several versions to choose from, search engines, concordances, and dictionaries.

When I am using a public computer, and I need a Bible Reference, I generally use Bible Gateway.com.  As usual, I stick with the King James Version, though the site has many versions and lots of free Bible Study helps available.  But, it is a commercial site, so you have to resist the temptation to buy everything they recommend; and, they do have lots of nice things!

The Official King James Bible Online - Authorized Version (KJV)

I just recently came across The Official King James Bible Online - Authorized Version (KJV) and I think it could easily become my new favorite.

It has only the King James Version of the Bible so chance for confusion or omissions.

It includes links to

  • Search the King James Bible
  • Find a specific verse
  • You can download the Bible to your computer
  • The is a mobile version to download to your phone
  • You can subscribe to the KJV Verse of the Day
  • It explains WHY the King James Bible
  • You can send links, and read the Bible on Facebook
  • You can add a link to the Bible to your website
  • It has a section on Inspirational Thoughts and Images
  • There is a section on Scientific Proof of the Bible
  • A Topical Index of the Bible
  • Commentaries on the Bible
  • Bible Trivia and Games
  • Electronic Bible which you can set up for email delivery
